Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of Metricly ("Service"), operated by Metricly ("we", "us", or "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation to these Terms.
1. The Service
Metricly is a hosted error-tracking platform. It collects, groups, and displays application exceptions and log records sent to the ingestion API. We provide the Service on a pay-as-you-go basis with a free tier as described on our Pricing page.
2. Accounts
You must provide accurate information when creating an account. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for keeping your credentials secure. You must notify us immediately at support@getmetricly.tech if you believe your account has been compromised.
You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction) to use the Service.
3. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Submit event data that contains personal data beyond what is strictly necessary for error diagnosis (see our Privacy Policy for guidance).
- Use the Service to store or transmit any illegal, defamatory, or harmful content.
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, disassemble, or circumvent any security measures of the Service.
- Resell or sublicense access to the Service without our prior written consent.
- Use the Service in a way that places unreasonable load on our infrastructure (e.g. deliberate spam ingestion).
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules without prior notice.
4. Ingest keys
Your project ingest keys (mtr_…) are publishable — they allow only write access to a specific project. You are responsible for rotating keys if you believe they have been compromised. Do not grant ingest keys read or admin access to any other part of your account.
5. Payment and credits
The Service is billed on a pay-as-you-go basis. Usage beyond the free tier is charged in credits, which you purchase in advance via Stripe. Credits are non-refundable except where required by law.
- Hack Club student credits expire at the end of the calendar month in which they are granted and do not roll over.
- Team-seat fees are charged once per additional member and are non-refundable.
- We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice, which we will communicate by email and on the pricing page.
Stripe acts as the payment processor. By making a purchase you also agree to Stripe's Terms of Service.
6. Data
You retain ownership of all event data you send to the Service. We process that data solely to provide the Service to you. Our use of your data is governed by our Privacy Policy.
We will not sell your data to third parties.
You may export or delete your data at any time via the dashboard or by contacting support. On account deletion, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
7. Intellectual property
All software, design, and documentation that makes up the Service is our property or that of our licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants you a licence to use our trademarks, trade names, or service marks.
8. Best-effort service level
We are committed to keeping Metricly available and responsive. We operate on a best-effort basis:
- We target 80% monthly uptime for the ingestion and dashboard APIs and treat every outage as a priority.
- We monitor the Service continuously and aim to begin investigating incidents within 4 hours of detection.
- Planned maintenance is communicated in the dashboard or by email with reasonable advance notice.
- We will restore service as quickly as possible and communicate progress during incidents.
This best-effort commitment applies to the core Ingestion API, dashboard, and webhooks. Beta features (clearly marked in the dashboard) are provided on an as-is basis and are excluded from this commitment.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total cumulative liability arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service will not exceed the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to liability, or (b) €100.
We will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profits, loss of data, or business interruption, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
11. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Metricly and its personnel from any claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service in violation of these Terms.
12. Termination
Either party may terminate these Terms at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you breach these Terms. On termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Sections 6, 9, 10, 11, and 13 survive termination.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Sweden, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Sweden.
14. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by posting a notice in the dashboard. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
